Hi Rosewin,
The Ion Showerhead EX uses piezoelectric effect from the quartz and crystals to reduce the contaminants and binds them with AB (anti-bacterial) and water molecules. In other words, the contaminants are rendered harmless because they do not make contact and bounced against the skin.
