Putting pads on other parts of the body

Can you use the detox foot pads on other parts of the body. I have a large mass/nodule on the my thyroid - I was told by my naturopath that I have heavy metals in my thyroid. Can I use the detox footpads over my thyroid for detoxing directly. Using the foot pads on my feet have not pulled out the heavy metals settled in my thyroid and head.
